National Night Out Annual Event October 1, 2019

The Event will be held October 1, 2019, at the Florence City Park, Benedict Avenue, Florence, Texas 76527 starting at 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

National Night Out is a community-police awareness-raising event in the United States, held the first Tuesday of August. Texas and Florida have the option to use the alternate date of the first Tuesday in October to avoid hot weather.

The event has been held annually since 1984 and is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch in the United States and Canada.

The event is meant to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug prevention, town watch, neighborhood watch, and other anti-crime efforts.

The events are typically organized by block watches, non-for-profit organizations, companies, and police departments. These events can be as simple as backyard cookouts to full-blown festivals like the one on the west side of Columbus, Ohio. The Ogden Block Watch in Columbus organizes one of the largest of this type of National Night Out festival which includes live music, food, and entertainment.

 “3 Lane Bungee Run”
Inflatable bungee run is a competitive game where two players each wear a harness with a bungee cord attached.

“Bubble Soccer”
Bubble Ball is one of the most exciting games ever created! Players wear inflatable suits that allow them to bounce off each other and fall on the ground without getting hurt. Not only is it safe but it’s also a blast to watch and incredibly funny and exciting. In summary, it’s a new sport that combines soccer and bumping between giant bubbles. You will find it also called  bubble-ball , bubble ball , bump ball or knocker ball. Bubble Ball is a lot like soccer, bumper cars & sumo-wrestling with many variations to play

“Wacky Chaos Obstacle Course”
This is a popular 180-degree obstacle challenge without all the frills. 2 opponents compete through a series of squeeze plays, climbing walls, slides, and more.

Jail-N-Bail for Blue Santa

A Police Officer “arrests” the unsuspecting participant, serving them with an arrest warrant. He or she is then whisked off to “jail”. When the participants arrive at the “jail”, their bail is set at $5.00 for adults or $3.00 for children under 13 or jail time by a judge. The jailbirds make pledge calls to friends, relatives, and co-workers to earn their bail. Most incarcerations last for no more than 10 minutes.

To file an arrest warrant, you pay a $2.00 filing fee, fill out the summons in which you include the crime for which your victim was arrested for.

Don’t forget to add a picture and your name on a “Wanted Poster” for $3.00

All Proceeds benefit the
Florence Police Department Blue Santa Program.
